在抗日战争期间，抚宁区东北部山区有一个抗日“堡垒村”——平市庄（现行政划分为平市南村和平市北村）。这里曾经涌现出许多抗日英雄，民兵王印庭便是其中一位。他那英勇悲壮的事迹可歌可泣，令人永志不忘。

“当时的形势，万分危急。”8月19日，记者走进平市北村李新华民俗文化展厅，参观平市庄红色教育展览，抚宁区委党史研究室工作人员的讲述将我们带回到那段难忘的烽火岁月。

1944年11月16日拂晓，日军纠集了驻秦皇岛伪军，日本关东军一部和海阳、石门寨、榆关等据点日伪军大部及东北伪满军共3000余人，由日军一四八二部队长松本率领，直扑平市庄抗日根据地。此时，我们的地方主力部队已转移至外线作战，留在根据地的武装力量，仅有以王印庭为首的十几名民兵和40多名正在养伤的八路军伤病员。

危急时刻，年轻的民兵游击组长王印庭展现出惊人的冷静和组织能力。他一面紧急指挥民兵组织全村群众扶老携幼向西北深山中转移，一面又将7名无法行动的重伤员一个个背到北山的隐秘山洞安顿好。就在他们刚刚埋藏好部队留下的粮食布匹时，鬼子的旗已然插上了四周的山头。

凭借对家乡地形的了解，王印庭带着3名民兵在敌人包围的缝隙中穿插迂回，本已看到突围的希望，可就在这时，一位老乡慌不择路地从山沟里跑出，身后是日军疯狂的嚎叫和枪声。“是走还是救？”
